The Utility Policy & Management Community is currently in its founding stage. Leadership structures are being developed to support the community’s mission, programming, membership engagement, partnerships, and long-term growth.

At this stage, the community is guided by its founding organizers, with additional leadership, advisory, working group, and volunteer opportunities to be developed as the community grows and formal structures are established.

Community Leadership

Supporting strategic direction, governance, partnerships, and long-term community development.

Programming and Events

Helping organize webinars, conference activities, professional development sessions, research discussions, and networking opportunities.

Membership and Engagement

Supporting member recruitment, onboarding, communication, participation, and community-building activities.

Student and Early-Career Engagement

Creating opportunities for students, doctoral researchers, early-career scholars, and emerging professionals to connect, learn, and contribute.

Practitioner and Policy Engagement

Strengthening connections with public managers, regulators, utility professionals, policymakers, nonprofit leaders, and community partners.

Working Groups and Topic Areas

Helping develop focused conversations around utility systems, infrastructure governance, regulation, affordability, resilience, sustainability, equity, digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and related public policy and public management issues.

ADVISORY & VOLUNTEER ROLES

As the community grows, Utility P&M may develop advisory and volunteer roles to support academic engagement, practitioner exchange, communications, resource sharing, conference activities, mentoring, publications, and field-building.

Members interested in contributing to the development of the community are warmly encouraged to join, share ideas, and indicate areas where they may wish to be involved.
